Brief Description
As a part of Centre of Excellence in Science and Mathematics Education (CESME-HBCSE) a workshop for chemistry teachers teaching at undergraduate level is being organized from 03 – 08 November 2019 at Ratnagiri (Gogate Jogalekar College). This activity is a part of National Initiative on Undergraduate Science (NIUS) programme of the centre.
During this workshop, we will try to understand some of the different ways for designing experiments for undergraduate chemistry laboratory. Participants will go through prototypes of differently designed experimental modules in the laboratory and will discuss these modules, both from pedagogical and content perspectives. Other aspects that will be discussed at the workshop will be assessment and standardization of the experiments. The participants are expected to present their experiences/reflections regarding the modules, after they carry out these experiments in the laboratory. In addition, the chemistry laboratory syllabi of Mumbai University will be discussed and reflected upon.
